Imposter overview

Imposter is a social-deduction party game for 3–10 players. Regular players see one shared secret word, while the hidden Imposter receives only a safe vague clue and must blend into the clue round.

Controls and modes

Share This Device uses private role flips, a group discussion timer, and pass-and-play voting. Online Room gives each player a device; the host chooses the category, a timer from Off to 60 seconds, and the player order. Clues are spoken aloud and are not stored.

Strategy tips

• As a regular player, give a clue that proves familiarity without stating an obvious synonym of the word.
• Compare clues with their timing: vague answers after several strong clues may indicate someone adapting.
• As the Imposter, listen for a common category before committing to a specific clue.
• Vote on contradictions rather than confidence alone; an unusual but accurate clue can come from a regular player.

How many people are needed?

Both modes require at least three players and support up to ten.

Does catching the Imposter end the round immediately?

No. The Imposter receives one private multiple-choice guess and steals the win by choosing the secret word.
