Poople overview

Poople is a daily four-letter word ladder with a fixed starting word and one delightfully fixed destination: POOP. Every step must be a valid word that differs from the previous word by exactly one letter.

Controls and modes

Enter letters with the physical or on-screen keyboard, use Backspace or Delete to correct them, and press Enter to submit. The daily puzzle, moves, streak, and completion statistics persist locally.

Strategy tips

  • Work backwards from POOP and look for valid words that differ from it by one position.
  • Preserve letters already shared with the target unless changing one creates a useful bridge.
  • Think in short chains rather than searching only for a direct jump from the current word.
  • Avoid exploratory words you may need later, because the same word cannot appear twice in one ladder.

Worked example: Build a short ladder without skipping a letter change

A practice chain is FOOD → GOOD → GOOP → POOP. It illustrates the rule and does not depend on today's starting word.

  1. FOOD → GOOD changes only the first letter, F to G. The other three positions stay fixed.
  2. GOOD → GOOP changes the final D to P. GOOP → POOP then changes the first G to P.
  3. That is three moves, because the starting word is not a move. FOOD → POOP would change both the first and last letters, so that direct jump is invalid.

Check both the dictionary and the number of changed positions before submitting. A familiar-looking spelling is not automatically accepted. Each word in this example is in GamingLand's four-letter list.
